Hello! I’m Danielle and I know what it’s like to be a small business owner, wearing many hats and spinning a lot of plates. For many, marketing seems to slip down the to-do list and then is always the thing moaned about over a cup of coffee with your business besties. Sound familiar? Vanity Metrics Isn't The Right Marketing
Vanity metrics can be extremely exciting, as they represent something very personal - your number of followers, likes and shares. However, we believe that these are only temporary gains that won’t lead to long term business growth. For example, imagine a clothing brand with 10 million followers on Instagram. That’s an impressive number, but it doesn’t necessarily mean anything in terms of actual sales. It might just mean that the owner has a great PR team who works hard to get their products into newspapers or magazines.
Vanity metrics is the wrong way to market your business. They are just numbers and not worth focusing on if you want to succeed. Instead we focus on things like revenue and customer retention which are going to actually get results that last.
